Notam filing instructions:

1)	Call the GF FAA flight service station.  Either hit 1 to talk to a live person or just wait until 
the system kicks you through.  This isn't the NOTAM person, just let this person know you want to file a 
NOTAM and they will transfer you to the NOTAM desk…  (1-800-992-7433)  Let them know who is calling (aka 
the responsible party…)  They will also want phone number(s), both for home and also a launch site 
number.

2)	Launch site radius and bearing from GF airport are the most important, for Nemo's it is 
approximately 250 bearing range of 28 miles.  GPS cooridinates may be useful, but not required or usually 
even asked for.

3)	Give launch time/date in zulu.  (2:00 PM = 1400 + 5 (or 6 for DST)  = 1900 Zulu

4)	Give flight duration to flight level 600 (60000 ft)  Generally 1.5 hours after launch, but tell 
them to a 1 hour launch window.  Rate of rise is estimated 1000 to 1500 ft/min

5)	Depending on who you get a hold of, they may also ask train length, balloon size, estimated 
direction, have you read FAR 101, do you know what you are doing?  (They are getting to know our group, 
usually don't ask that anymore, and they look up the winds aloft and do their own guess as to the landing 
zone.)
